MQ-4C Triton

MQ-4C Triton is a HALE-class maritime surveillance unmanned aircraft system developed by Northrop Grumman for high-altitude, long-endurance operations. Designed to complement crewed aircraft such as the P-8A Poseidon within the U.S. Navy’s maritime patrol and reconnaissance architecture, Triton provides persistent situational awareness across large maritime and coastal areas.

Triton’s primary mission is to detect, classify, and track maritime traffic and potential threats across vast areas from high altitude. Its AESA-based maritime surveillance radar, EO/IR sensors, AIS, and electronic support systems enable data on ships, aircraft, and other maritime assets to be shared with other platforms.

The platform is configured for long-duration missions with fully autonomous takeoff and landing, SATCOM and line-of-sight communications, an anti-icing system, and a 360-degree multi-intelligence sensor suite. According to Plarok data, the MQ-4C Triton has a maximum speed of 330 knots, a cruise speed of 310 knots, an endurance of approximately 24 hours, and a service ceiling of 56,000 feet. Its range of approximately 13,700 kilometers supports the surveillance of vast maritime areas during a single mission.
