Leonardo Falco Xplorer

The Leonardo Falco Xplorer is a MALE-class intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance unmanned aircraft system developed by Italy-based Leonardo. Following its maiden flight in 2020, the platform was designed for persistent strategic surveillance and long-endurance intelligence missions.
The main strength of the Falco Xplorer is its ability to combine different sensors within a single mission system. Multimode SAR radar, electro-optical/infrared cameras and ELINT/COMINT systems can support land, maritime and wide- area surveillance missions. Its open architecture also allows third-party sensors and mission equipment to be integrated according to customer requirements.
According to the Plarok database, the Falco Xplorer offers approximately 24 hours of endurance, a 350-kilogram payload capacity and a service ceiling of 30,000 feet. Line-of-sight and SATCOM communication options support operations over extended distances from the ground control station. In addition to military missions, the platform can be adapted for environmental and agricultural monitoring, making it a strategic RPAS solution currently listed in the testing stage.
