Kamikaze
The Lancet is a loitering munition developed by Russia-based ZALA Aero and offered within the Kalashnikov Concern family. Combining reconnaissance and strike functions in one mission chain, the system is designed to approach a target area, collect electro-optical imagery and conduct a precision dive attack against a selected target.
Lancet’s mission architecture combines real-time video transmission, electro-optical guidance and remote operator control. It can navigate toward pre-planned coordinates or search within a designated area, using imagery for operator-supported target assessment.
Independent navigation, combined guidance and autonomous engagement options provide flexibility during mission planning and target approach. Its pre-contact fuze and high-precision strike capability are intended to deliver the munition’s effect directly on the selected target.
The platform uses an EO/IR gimbal to support daylight and thermal observation. When equipped with a reconnaissance module, it can support target detection, visual confirmation and real-time battle-damage assessment. Different variants, including Lancet-1 and Lancet-3, have been reported, so range, warhead and mission-duration figures can vary by configuration.
