KUS - FS

The KUS-FS is a MALE-class unmanned aircraft developed by South Korea for strategic missions that require high- altitude and long-duration surveillance. Built by Korean Air, the platform combines a large airframe, retractable landing gear and satellite communications capability to support persistent reconnaissance operations.

According to the Plarok dataset, the KUS-FS is 13 metres long, 3 metres high and has a 25-metre wingspan. Its first flight is recorded as 2012, while speed, range, payload and endurance figures remain marked as TBC because reliable public values have not been confirmed in the available sources. As a result, the aircraft is best understood through its mission architecture and payload integration rather than through a fixed set of published performance figures.

The KUS-FS is designed to accommodate electro-optical and infrared imaging, synthetic aperture radar, SATCOM and communications-relay payloads. Its military roles include intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and electronic warfare, while the same platform can be adapted for maritime, border, environmental and disaster monitoring. Fully automated flight and landing functions are intended to reduce operator workload during long-duration missions.
