Kronshtadt Sirius

The Kronshtadt Sirius is a twin-engine MALE reconnaissance and strike UAV project developed by Russia-based Kronshtadt Group. Designed as a larger derivative of the Orion family, Sirius aims to combine long-range surveillance, intelligence collection, target acquisition and, when required, precision strike missions on a single platform.

Sirius is planned around a multi-payload mission architecture. Electro-optical and infrared systems support target search and identification, while radar-based payloads can be used for wide-area surveillance and moving-target tracking. The final capabilities may vary according to the development configuration and user requirements.

The platform is intended to support long-range missions through SATCOM and beyond-line-of-sight communications, exchange real-time data with a ground control centre and conduct reconnaissance and strike tasks within the same mission-management chain. Its twin-engine configuration is designed to support a higher payload and extended mission profile.

Sirius remains in development and testing, so publicly reported technical values may vary between sources and configurations. According to the Plarok database, the platform is recorded with an approximate range of 2,000 kilometres, an endurance of 20 hours, a service ceiling of 30,000 feet and a payload capacity of 300 kilograms.
