Elbit Hermes 450

The Elbit Hermes 450 is a multi-role tactical unmanned aerial vehicle developed by Elbit Systems. The platform is designed for intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance missions, and forms part of a mature UAS family capable of carrying different mission payloads.

Hermes 450 uses dual ground data terminals and an integrated mission-management architecture, allowing multiple missions to be conducted from the same ground control system. Its modular payload design supports different combinations of electro-optical/infrared reconnaissance, wide-area imaging, signals intelligence and electronic warfare capabilities.

Available sensor options include EO/IR systems, thermal and hyperspectral cameras, a laser rangefinder, as well as SAR, GMTI and MPR radars. This configuration supports the tracking of stationary and moving targets, wide-area scanning and the collection of reconnaissance data across different operating conditions.

Hermes 450 can support border surveillance, critical infrastructure protection, tactical reconnaissance and long-endurance ISTAR missions. Elbit Systems developed the platform with a focus on high autonomy, rapid deployment and reduced maintenance requirements. According to the Plarok database, Hermes 450 has a maximum speed of 95 knots, an endurance of 17 hours, a service ceiling of 20,000 feet and a payload capacity of 150 kilograms.
