CASC CH-4 (Rainbow 4)
HALE / UCAV / ISR
The CASC CH-4 Rainbow 4 is a MALE-class reconnaissance and strike unmanned aircraft developed by the China Aerospace
The CH-4 can be configured to provide ground forces with real-time imagery, track targets for extended periods and employ guided weapons when required. Its electro-optical/infrared gimbal supports target observation during both day and night. The armed CH-4B configuration can perform armed reconnaissance and limited strike missions with precision- guided munitions.
The platform is available in different mission configurations, including the reconnaissance-oriented CH-4A and the armed CH-4B. Reconnaissance configurations may provide longer endurance, while versions carrying weapons and additional mission equipment generally remain airborne for less time. Line-of-sight and SATCOM communication options support connectivity with the ground control station across different operating distances.
According to the Plarok database, the CH-4 has a maximum speed of 189 knots, a cruise speed of 55 knots, a range of approximately 2,750 kilometres, an endurance of 30 hours and a service ceiling of 47,000 feet. Its 345-kilogram payload capacity allows the platform to carry guided weapons alongside reconnaissance sensors.
